Electroplating

A plating process in which metal in a solution is moved by an electric current to cover a piece of metal acting as an electrode.

Enamelling

A process where finely ground glass is fused to a metal surface by the application of intense heat.

Engraving

A pattern incised into the surface of metal using a burin.

Etching

The process of using a strong acid known as a mordant to cut a design into metal. The design is created by masking of areas that should remain untouched with a material known as a resist that is impervious to the acid.
