Dapping block

See Doming block

Die

A tool used to shape or cut metal using a press.

Dividers

A pair of callipers with sharpened points that act as scribers during the marking out process.

Doming block

A metal block with circular hollows of various sizes. Sheet metal can be hammered into a hollow thereby creating a dome.

Drawing

A cold working process where wire or tube is drawn through a series dies of decreasing size so that the diameter is reduced and the length increases.

Drawplate

The die used in the drawing process.

Ductility

A measure of a metal's ability to deform under tensile stress.
