Mmmn, I've just tasted last year's batch and it's a success. So here's a brief post with the recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 lb 9oz sloes
- 2 litre bottles gin
- sugar
Method
- Freeze sloes overnight
- Next day, squish and put in the emptied gin bottles
- Add sugar to taste; I put in 2oz per bottle, more can always be added later
- Top up with gin
- Shake every day until sugar is dissolved
- Leave for at least 6 months, I leave them for a year
- Strain the liquid and re-bottle
