Sloe Gin

Mmmn, I've just tasted last year's batch and it's a success. So here's a brief post with the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb 9oz sloes
  • 2 litre bottles gin
  • sugar

Method

  1. Freeze sloes overnight
  2. Next day, squish and put in the emptied gin bottles
  3. Add sugar to taste; I put in 2oz per bottle, more can always be added later
  4. Top up with gin
  5. Shake every day until sugar is dissolved
  6. Leave for at least 6 months, I leave them for a year
  7. Strain the liquid and re-bottle
